Mission & Purpose
The South Carolina Public Health Association (SCPHA) is a statewide organization for public health professionals. The purpose and goal of the Association is to protect and promote personal, community and environmental health; to exercise leadership in health policy development and action; to provide a forum for matters pertaining to public health; and to foster scientific and professional development among its members.
Governing Council
The policies and directions of the Association are established by the governing council. In addition, the governing council manages the fiscal and other affairs of the Association. It consists of the current officers and the immediate past president of the Association, the state’s representatives to the American Public Health Association and the Southern Health Association, the chairperson of each section and four elected members. The officers are as follows:
