Tobacco is the only product that, when used as directed, kills. Every year, more than 480,000 Americans die and millions more get sick due to tobacco use. In addition, tobacco use results in more than $289 billion in health care and related costs.
But it doesn't have to be this way. Every day, more and more people are choosing a healthier way:
- Target, Wegmans and CVS Caremark have all decided to do the right thing and remove tobacco from their shelves.
- Twenty-seven state attorneys general have sent letters to the rest of the nation's pharmacy chains asking them to follow suit.
- Thousands of people have signed APHA's petition calling on all retail pharmacies to stop selling tobacco.
Join us in encouraging all pharmacies and wellness retailers to put their customers' health ahead of profits from tobacco.
Sign APHA's petition today: No tobacco sales in stores with pharmacies and clinics
Please add your voice to the growing number of people and organizations working to stop the epidemic of tobacco-related death and illness. Sign APHA's petition and share it with family, friends and colleagues.
