The APHA Council of Affiliates has opened a call for abstracts for affiliates and students. Please click the link below for more information.
The CoA is inviting Affiliates to submit abstracts for posters which will demonstrate Affiliate best practices or promising programs for display at the 143nd APHA Annual Meeting & Expo in Chicago, Oct. 31-Nov. 4, 2015. This year the conference will explore the theme Health in All Policies. In keeping with this theme, proposals on programs to impact policy will be especially welcome. However, posters can be on any topic related to any work of the Affiliate. Affiliate posters accepted for exhibition at the Annual Meeting will be posted on the Affiliate Online Community so all affiliates will have the opportunity to learn from these model programs.
The CoA is sponsoring two student poster sessions for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in public health-related coursework. Students are encouraged to submit proposals for public health-related work they have either recently completed or are in the process of completing for exhibition at the 2015 APHA Annual Meeting. Poster proposals can be on any public health-related topic and should represent a project sponsored by your Affiliate or any of your Affiliate members (individuals or groups). One poster session will be exclusively for abstracts written by undergraduate students to highlight their public health-related activities and research. The other session will be open to graduate students only (master and doctoral levels) interested in sharing their research and experience in public health. Student posters accepted for exhibition at the Annual Meeting will be judged by a sub-committee of the CoA, and top winners will be selected and awarded a cash prize of $200 and a certificate acknowledging their work.
The deadline for submitting poster abstracts for each category is July 31, 2015. Authors will be contacted in early September regarding poster abstract selection for exhibition.
