Using Data and Sound Science to Make Noise: Addressing Quality of Life Issues in SC's Riskiest Communities

SCPHA is pleased to present the PULSE – a monthly webinar series aimed at providing Public Health Updates, Learning, Skills, and Engagement opportunities. These sessions are open to both members and non members and are meant to be quick and easy ways for us to connect across the state regarding issues impacting our state. Our first session of 2026 with be with Dr. Daniel Kilpatrick, Clinical Assistant Professor at USC’s Arnold School of Public Health. This session will give participants an overview of how to reframe risk reduction and how to apply proven community engagement methods supportive of resilience 

Objectives:

  • Describe a novel method on reframing risk reduction for more strategic public health programming,  
  • Identify additional and emerging hazards of public health relevance, and  
  • Apply proven community engagement methods that support effective resilience strategies.
